Huntingdon varsity and B-Team lead Wynlakes Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon varsity and B-Team men's golf teams each turned in under-par rounds and are first and second after the opening day of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate.

Entering Tuesday's final round at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club, the No. 1 ranked varsity Hawks lead the 15-team field with an 8-under-par 280 and the B-Team is second at 1-under 287. Carnegie Mellon is third at 3-over 291.

Second-ranked Texas-Tyler is fourth at 296, fifth-ranked Emory is fifth at 299, Birmingham-Southern is sixth at 300, seventh-ranked Greensboro is seventh at 302 and sixth-ranked LaGrange is eighth at 304.

Huntingdon senior Addison Lambeth shot a 5-under 67 on Monday and is tied for first with Carnegie Mellon's George Qian. Huntingdon sophomore Mark Connelly led the B-Team with a 3-under 69 and is third overall.

Behind Lambeth, three other varsity Hawks are in the top eight. Senior Chad Ring shot a 2-under 70 and is tied for fourth and senior Will Thrash shot a 1-under 71 and is seventh. Sophomore Stephen Shephard turned in an even-par 72 and is tied for eighth. Freshman Drew Mathers shot a 7-over 79 to round out the varsity scores.

For the B-Team Hawks, freshman Alex Rogers shot an even-par 72 and is tied for eighth. Freshman Alex Aulerich and junior Chase Feagin each shot a 1-over 73 and are tied for 10th. Junior Jon Colten Stanaland finished with a 2-over 74 and is tied for 19th.

Playing as individuals, Huntingdon sophomore Joaquin Trigueros shot a 7-over 79 and sophomore Sterling Dixon shot 90.
