Huntingdon’s Shephard named USA South Golfer of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon's Stephen Shephard was named the USA South Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

Shephard was recognized for his performance in winning the Division III Golfweek Fall Invitational. The win, which was the second of Shephard's collegiate career, saw the junior tie his personal best collegiate round twice and set a new Huntingdon NCAA-era record for a three-round event. 

Shephard tied his best round as a Hawk with a 3-under-par 68 in both the second and third rounds and finished with an 8-under 205 in three rounds. The 205 was five strokes better than the Hawks' previous NCAA-era record for 54 holes.

Huntingdon closes out the fall season in the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial on Monday and Tuesday.
