Huntingdon’s Connelly recognized as USA South Golfer of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon's Mark Connelly was named the USA South Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

Connelly was recognized for his performance in winning the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial. The junior shot a 3-under-par 139 to earn the first win of his Huntingdon career. Connelly shot a 3-under-par 68 in the opening round and closed the tournament with an even-par 71 in the final round.

His two-round 139 was the fourth best two-round total in the history of O'Briant-Jensen medalists. It was also the third straight season a Huntingdon golfer has won the tournament.

Connelly is one of three Huntingdon golfers to earn medalist honors in five tournaments this fall and is the second Hawk to earn USA South Golfer of the Week honors this fall.
