Schreyer presented with Dave Williams Coach of the Year Award

LAS VEGAS – Huntingdon Director of Golf Dave Schreyer was recently presented with the Dave Williams Division III National Coach of the Year Award.

Schreyer was announced as the Division III Coach of the Year in June and received the award at the Golf Coaches Association of America's National Convention in December.

A total of six coaches were presented with Coach of the Year Awards. The Dave Williams Award recognizes the top coach in NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III, NAIA and NJCAA Division I and Division II.

In addition to Schreyer, Division I winner Scott Limbaugh (Vanderbilt) and Division II winner Steve Fell (West Florida) both have ties to Huntingdon. Limbaugh played and coached for the Hawks and Fell played for Huntingdon.

"It was great to be at the Hall of Fame dinner with all the great coaches in this country," Schreyer said. "It is mind-boggling to know that all three of the NCAA's Dave Williams Award winners this year are former Huntingdon golfers. There is an immediate friendship from the common thread that our careers were fostered on the campus of Huntingdon College years ago. It was great to share the spotlight with two great coaches and men."
