NORMAN, Okla. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America with the release of the 2019 Team Academic Awards.
Mathers wins Spirit of America Classic

DECATUR, Ala. – Huntingdon golfer Drew Mathers recently won his second amateur tournament of the summer with a two-stroke win in the Spirit of America Classic. Mathers shot a 13-under-par 271 at Burningtree Country Club to beat two-time defending tournament champion and University of South Alabama golfer Brooks Rabren.
Mathers named to All-Nicklaus Team

NORMAN, Okla. – Huntingdon junior Drew Mathers was announced as a member of the 2019 All-Nicklaus Team this week. The team is comprised of golfers from Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and NJCAA. Mathers was one of three Division III golfers to earn the recognition. The Mobile, Ala., native was a finalist for the Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award this season.
Four Hawks recognized on Ping All-America teams

NORMAN, Okla. – Four Huntingdon golfers were recognized with the release of the Golf Coaches Association of America’s finalized Division III Ping All-America teams. Senior Stephen Shephard and junior Drew Mathers were announced as first-team All-America selections in May. This week, senior Henry Gee was named third-team All-America and senior Mark Connelly was named an honorable mention selection.
Schreyer recognized as South Region Coach of the Year

119 Hawks earn USA South Academic All-Conference honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A total of 119 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Friday. The student-athletes, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,441 USA South student-athletes named to the team.
Levanda named Director of Athletics

Hawks place 2nd, Mathers places 3rd in NCAA Tournament

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team turned in its best four-round total of the NCAA era and placed second to match its best finish in the Division III Men’s Golf Championships. Second-ranked Huntingdon shot a 9-over-par 297 in Friday’s final round at Keene Trace Golf Club to finish the tournament with a 25-over 1177. Third-ranked Illinois Wesleyan won the tournament with a 22-over 1174.
Huntingdon tied for 1st entering final round of NCAA Tournament

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team made another big push in the third round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship on Thursday. The second-ranked Hawks shot 10 strokes better than any other team in the tournament on Thursday with a 2-over-par 290. Entering Friday’s final round at Keene Trace Golf Club, the Hawks are tied for first with a 16-over 880 in the first three rounds.
Hawks climb to fourth after Rd. 2 of NCAA Tournament

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team shot 3-over-par 291 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship on Wednesday. The Hawks shaved eight strokes off their first-round score and climbed four spots in the team standings. Entering Thursday’s third round at Keene Trace Golf Club, the second-ranked Hawks are fourth with a two-round score of 14-over 590.

GCAA announces All-Region and All-America Scholar selections

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America released its PING All-Region teams and the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars on Tuesday night. Four Hawks earned All-Region honors and three were named All-America Scholars.
