Gee named USA South Golfer of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon senior Henry Gee was named the USA South Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

As the first Golfer of the Week release of the fall, the recognition covers Huntingdon's first two tournaments of the fall. In six tournament rounds this month, Gee has shot par-or-better four times, fired his two best rounds as a Hawk and tied Huntingdon's NCAA-era record for a three-round tournament.

In the Rhodes Fall Classic, on Sept. 23-24, Gee finished as the runner-up and tied the three-round record with an 11-under-par 205. His performance helped the third-ranked Hawks earn the win with a 22-under 842. The three-round total is the best by the Hawks during the NCAA era.

Gee opened the tournament with what was his best round as a Huntingdon golfer with a 4-under 68. In the second round, Gee improved by a stroke and fired a 5-under 67. He closed the tournament with his third straight under-par round with a 2-under 70.

Gee opened the fall season with a 10-over 226 in the NCAA Tournament Fall Preview. Gee shot back-to-back rounds of 77 to open the tournament and closed the tournament with an even-par 72.
