NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America released its Second Wave Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars on Tuesday. In the first season in which sophomores are eligible for the award, seven Hawks were named All-America Scholars. Cody Argade, Connor Bruce, Ben Harris, Walker Hinds, Drew Mathers, Cam Page and Carson Whitton were among 81 Division III golfers to earn the recognition. This is the second straight season Mathers has been named an All-American Scholar.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A total of 184 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday. The student-athletes, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,702 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

NORMAN, Okla. – Huntingdon Director of Golf Dave Schreyer was recently named the Golf Coaches Association of America’s Division III South Region Coach of the Year. The GCAA announced the National and Regional Coach of the Year winners for NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and NJCAA Division I and Division II. This is the fourth time in the past five seasons Schreyer has been named Region Coach of the Year. Schreyer also received the recognition in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The third-ranked Huntingdon men’s golf team turned in its best three-round total of the NCAA era and placed second in the Savannah Invitational. The Hawks shot a 13-under par 275 in Tuesday’s final round and finished the tournament with a 24-under 840. Ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon won the tournament with a 31-under 833.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The third-ranked Huntingdon men’s golf team shot 11-under-par 565 in the first two rounds of the Savannah Invitational on Monday. Huntingdon shot 5-under 283 in the first round and 6-under 282 in the second round. Entering Tuesday’s final round, the Hawks are seven strokes out of first and tied for fourth.

FORT WORTH, Texas. – Huntingdon senior golfer Drew Mathers was named to the 2020 Ben Hogan Award watch list this week. The Ben Hogan award is given annually and recognizes the top men’s golfer from the NCAA (Division I, Division II or Division III), NAIA or NJCAA. The award takes into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period from June to May. Mathers is one of 31 golfers named to the watch list and the only Division III golfer on the list. Of the 31 golfers, 28 are from the Division I level.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon men’s and women’s golf teams are both picked to lead the conference in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason polls. The Huntingdon men’s golf team is the preseason favorite for a fourth straight season. The Huntingdon women’s golf team, in its first season of competition in the conference, is ranked second.
