Shephard wins Taco Bell Natchez Classic

NATCHEZ, Miss. – Former Huntingdon golfer and three-time All-American Stephen Shephard won his first professional event on Saturday.

In his debut on the All Pro Tour, Shephard shot a 15-under-par 273 in four rounds and won the Taco Bell Natchez Classic in a playoff at Beau Pre Country Club.                                   

Shephard shot a 4-under 68 in the opening round of the tournament and a 2-under 70 in the second round. He climbed eight spots in the third round with a 6-under 66 to set up the final-round push and a 3-under 69.               

In the final round, Shephard put together five birdies on the front-nine and closed the round with two birdies to force a playoff.
