Second-ranked Hawks open play in O’Briant-Jensen Memorial

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The second-ranked Huntingdon men's golf team shot 301 in the first round of the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial on Monday.

Entering Tuesday's final round, the Hawks are 11 strokes out of first and in 12th. Sixth-ranked Hampden-Sydney, 16th-ranked Guilford College and 23rd-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic are tied for first at 6-over-par 290.

The 22-team tournament features nine nationally-ranked teams.

Guilford's James Mishoe turned in Monday's best round and is in first with a 3-under 68. All six Hawks in the tournament are within 10 strokes of first.

Senior Drew Mathers and junior Owen Burt are six strokes off the lead and tied for 21st at 3-over 74. Sophomore Carson Whitton shot a 5-over 76, sophomore Cody Argade shot 6-over 77 and junior Connor Bruce shot 7-over 78. Playing as an individual, sophomore Cam Page also shot 7-over 78.
