Second-ranked Hawks tie for 2nd, Burt ties for 3rd in Savannah Invitational
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Huntingdon's Owen Burt tied for third and the second-ranked Huntingdon men's golf team tied for second in the Savannah Invitational.
The Hawks shot 8-under-par 280 in the final round and finished the three-round tournament with a 3-under 861. Fifth-ranked Methodist won the tournament with an 8-under 856 and eighth-ranked Guilford tied for second with Huntingdon.
The 16-team tournament featured seven nationally-ranked teams.
Burt closed the tournament with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday and tied for third with a 4-under 212.
Guilford's James Mishoe earned tournament medalist honors with a 13-under 203 and LaGrange's Cameron Starr was second with a 12-under 204.
Huntingdon's Walker Hinds tied for 10th with a 1-under 215. Hinds shot 3-under 69 in the final round. Carson Whitton shot 2-under 70 in the final round and tied for 14th with a 1-over 217.
Peter Meilunas shot 1-under 71 in the final round and tied for 19th with a 4-over 220. John Gaal shot 1-over 73 in Round 3 and finished tied for 34th with an 8-over 224.
Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the Tiger Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
