UMass Boston scored twice in the first two minutes, built a five-goal lead in the first half and knocked off the first-year Hawks 12-6. This is the 31st season of competition for the Beacons (1-1).

Experience made a difference as first-year Huntingdon fell to fourth-year Birmingham-Southern 27-2. The game was just the second for the Hawks (1-1). It was the 49th game for the Panthers (2-1).
