Huntingdon men’s lacrosse loses at Randolph College

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team hung with Randolph College for most of the first half on Wednesday. But the Wildcats began to pull away late in the second period and knocked off the first-year Hawks 17-9.

Mickey Reville and Michael Brunick each scored once in the first period and Brandon Sewell scored twice in the second period as Huntingdon (4-6) trailed 5-4 with 6:13 left in the first half. Randolph (3-5) answered with four goals in the final four minutes of the second period to take a 9-4 lead.

Huntingdon pulled within four goals early in the fourth period, before the Wildcats closed out the game with five goals in the final 10 minutes.

Sewell scored three goals, made two assists, recorded eight ground balls and had three caused turnovers for Huntingdon. Gavin Carey and Brunick each scored two goals and Garrison Johnson and Reville each scored once. Xavier Singleton had an assist.

Goalie Spencer Nix recorded 10 saves.

Huntingdon plays at Ferrum College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
