Huntingdon men’s lacrosse knocks off Oglethorpe

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team controlled Oglethorpe from the start and took a 12-5 win on Monday at Samford Stadium.

The Hawks (4-3) jumped out to a 9-1 lead as they picked up their third win in three meetings with the Stormy Petrels.

Davis Dalton and Gavin Carey each scored three goals for Huntingdon, Anthony Rovetto added two goals and Brandon Sewell, Mike Kazmarik, Jakob Works and Karson Hastings each scored once.

Hastings also had three assists, Sewell had two assists and Works and Jeremy Hooks each had one assist. Works finished with six ground balls and Kristian Smith had five ground balls. Sewell won 5-of-9 faceoffs and Jimbo Turk won 4-10 faceoffs.

Smith made his first collegiate start at goalie and recorded 10 saves and allowed one goal in three periods.

Huntingdon returns to action on Saturday at Millsaps.
