Huntingdon men’s lacrosse picks up fifth win of the season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team dominated the University of Dallas from start to finish in a 15-7 win on Tuesday.

The Hawks scored 10 goals in the first half and held Dallas to 17 shots for the game. Huntingdon jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first period and led by as many as 10 goals twice in the second half.

With the win, the second-year Hawks (5-4) have already matched their win total from last season.

Six different players accounted for the Hawks' 15 goals. Gavin Carey, Mike Kazmarik and Anthony Rovetto each scored three goals and Brandon Sewell, Jakob Works and Davis Dalton each scored twice.

Sewell also had an assist, won 17-of-20 faceoffs and recorded 14 ground balls. Carey had two assists and four ground balls and Works, Dalton and Karson Hastings each finished with one assist. Taylor Day and Dylan Byrum both caused two turnovers. Jimbo Turk won 4-of-6 faceoffs.

Goalie Kristian Smith earned the start and combined with Fabien Gutierrez and Chris Minar for six saves.

Huntingdon hosts Berry on Saturday at 2 p.m.
