Huntingdon men’s lacrosse falls to Millsaps in final minute

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team built a three-goal lead in the fourth period, but Millsaps scored with 25 seconds left to edge the Hawks 16-15 on Saturday.

Senior Mike Kasmarik led Huntingdon, tying the school record for goals in a game with seven. The mark was set by Jakob Works last season against Piedmont.

Works added four goals, four assists and five ground balls. Patrick Messenger scored two goals for the Hawks (1-3) and Brandon Sewell and LaDarius Williams each scored one goal. Williams also had two assists and Sewell had 10 ground balls and won 14-of-21 faceoffs. Matt Bowes had one assist.

Goalie Fabien Gutierrez recorded 20 saves.

Huntingdon travels to Oglethorpe on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game.
