Huntingdon men’s lacrosse gets back on track against Oglethorpe

ATLANTA – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team took a commanding eight-goal lead in the first half, led by as many as 11 goals and knocked off Oglethorpe 14-5 on Tuesday night.

The win was the fourth over Oglethorpe in four meetings since Huntingdon's inaugural season in 2012.

Six players combined to score Huntingdon's 14 goals. Brandon Sewell scored a team-high four goals and had six ground balls. Mike Kasmarik and LaDarius Williams each scored three goals. Williams also had an assist.

Jakob Works added two goals, an assist and five ground balls, Patrick Messenger had one goal and one assist and Brandon Scheele had one goal and won 10-of-14 faceoffs.

Matt Bowes, Josh Clayton, Caleb Dixon and Tyler Campbell each caused two turnovers.

Starting goalie Fabien Gutierrez recorded six saves and allowed one goal. DeanQuez McKinstry and Sean O'Hara also saw time at goalie, with each allowing two goals in the fourth period.

Huntingdon (2-3) returns to action on Thursday, hosting La Roche at 4 p.m.
