Huntingdon men’s lacrosse knocks off Transylvania for third straight win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team scored four goals in the final 22 minutes to knock off Transylvania University 9-6 on Monday.

The win was the third straight for the Hawks (4-3).

Huntingdon trailed 6-5 with seven minutes left in the third period, but scored the final four goals of the game. Jakob Works scored two of the final four goals and Brandon Sewell and Mike Kasmarik added the other two goals.

Works finished with three goals and Sewell, Kasmarik and LaDarius Williams each scored two goals. Sewell also had one assist.

Ryan Steele, Patrick Messenger, Brandon Scheele and Williams each had four ground balls and Scheele won 7-of-13 faceoffs.

Goalie Fabien Gutierrez recorded 10 saves and five ground balls in the win.

Huntingdon hosts Hendrix on Saturday at 1 p.m.
