ST. LOUIS – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team lost to Augustana College 7-4 on Sunday.

The Hawks (7-6) trailed 4-3 going into the fourth quarter but allowed three goals in the final 15 minutes.

"The defense played fantastic," Huntingdon head coach Andrew Carey said. "We weren't able to handle the pressure and couldn't the clear the ball well. We played hard against a NCAA tournament team and we will learn from it."

Augustana is the defending College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin champions and fell in the first round of the NCAA tournament last season.

Brandon Scheele led Huntingdon with two goals while Jakob Works and Davis Dalton each had one.

Kendrick Ballard and Karson Hastings both had one assist.

Complete stats were not available for Sunday's game.

The Hawks will play Benedictine on Tuesday in St. Louis at 2 p.m.
