Men’s lacrosse drops one-goal game to Benedictine

ST. LOUIS—The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team lost to Benedictine University 14-13 on Tuesday.

The Hawks (7-7) scored six goals in the first, one in the second and third and closed the game with five goals in the fourth.

The Hawks scored the game's first four goals and took a 7-2 lead early in the second quarter. Benedictine rattled off five goals to tie the game 7-7 heading into halftime.

The Eagles (5-1) scored three goals in the third quarter to take a 10-7 lead before a Jackson Schrampfer goal pulled Huntingdon within two.

Benedictine pulled ahead 14-9 but the Hawks used a 4-0 run to make it a one goal game. After a timeout in the final minute, the Hawks turned the ball over as time expired.

Complete stats were not provided for the game.

Jakob Works scored four goals and had four assists. Brandon Scheele added three goals as Kendrick Ballard and Schrampfer each had two.

Mike George and Patrick Rowe both had one goal and one assist as Karson Hastings had one assist, giving him 18 on the season.

The Hawks travel to Kansas City, Mo. on Thursday to take on Division II opponent Rockhurst University at 6 p.m.
