Huntingdon suffers first home loss of the season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team fell behind late in the first half and lost to Rhodes College 14-7 on Wednesday.

Huntingdon (2-2) scored three goals in the first 20 minutes of the game and led 3-2 with 10:30 left in the first half. But Rhodes (3-1) answered with four straight goals and carried a 6-4 lead into halftime.

Rhodes opened the second half with four goals in the first seven minutes and put the game away in the fourth quarter.

Bryce Coates scored three goals for the Hawks and Mac Puller had one goal, one assist and four ground balls. Miles Stading, Adrian Harper and Raymond Edwards each scored one goal. Zach Barnhill had one assist and three ground balls.

Sam Hitt was 13-for-23 on faceoffs and picked up 11 ground balls. Tyler Keiser and Logan Wilson each had two caused turnovers. Keiser also had three ground balls.

Goalie Matt Murphy finished with 18 saves, five ground balls and 14 goals allowed in 60 minutes.
