Huntingdon men’s soccer season ends in GSAC finals

LaGRANGE, Ga. – Top-seeded Maryville scored with a little more than seven minutes to play to beat Huntingdon 1-0 in the finals of the Great South Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament.

The Hawks (5-12-2) battled Maryville (14-4-2) for 82 minutes on Saturday before Tyler Tinker scored on an unassisted goal with 7:13 left in the game.

"It was a great accomplishment for our team to make the finals," Huntingdon head coach Kevin Ray said. "We played a very strong Maryville team and we did a good job. This isn't the way we wanted it to end, but our guys played hard and kept us in the game. Reaching the GSAC championship was a great way to send our seniors out."

Dallas Thomas took the Hawks' only shot in the game. Keeper Jordan Osborne recorded five saves for Huntingdon.
