Huntingdon men’s soccer stumbles at Warren Wilson

SWANNANOA, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team doubled Warren Wilson in shots taken, but the Owls pulled out a 2-0 win on Friday. Warren Wilson scored in the first four minutes of the game and the last five minutes of the first half.

"We had two big defensive miscues, one in the first five minutes and the other just before the half, and they took advantage and scored on both of them," Huntingdon head coach Timmy McCormack said. "We weren't happy with the way we played in the first half. We played better in the second half but we couldn't even the score.

"We're disappointed with two straight losses and we're hoping to have a better result against Hendrix."

The Hawks return to action at home on Sunday, hosting Hendrix at 2 p.m.

Huntingdon (4-7-1) took 19 shots to the Owls' nine on Friday, including a 14-2 advantage in the second half. Rhett Williams took five shots for Huntingdon and Jack Allen and Stacy Terry each took four shots. Allen and Terry both had two shots on goal and Williams had one shot on goal.

Keeper Alex Brown had one save and two goals allowed for the Hawks.
