Men’s soccer opens season with loss to Oglethorpe

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team fell behind early and lost to Oglethorpe 3-0 on Friday in the Jim 'N Nicks/PUMA Labor Day Classic.

Leading 1-0 at the half, Oglethorpe (1-0) scored two goals in the first five minutes of the second half to take control. The Stormy Petrels took 25 shots for the game.

Brendon Van Emelen took two of Huntingdon's four shots in the game. Dylan Wier and Michael Craven each took one shot for the Hawks.

Keeper Alex Brown had two saves and three goals allowed.

Huntingdon (0-1) returns to action in the tournament on Sunday against Birmingham-Southern at 2:30 p.m.
