Men’s soccer loses home opener to Louisiana College

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team battled a physical Louisiana College team but fell 3-0 on Friday.

Louisiana College (3-2) scored one goal in the first half and two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

"They were a good team and they worked harder than we did," Huntingdon head coach Matt Williams said. "But one of the reasons we're playing teams like this is to test ourselves. We want to see what we're made of. We aren't quite there yet, but our ultimate goal remains the same. We want to try and get better each day. That continues tomorrow as we prepare for Millsaps on Sunday."

The Hawks (1-2-2) travel to Millsaps for a 3 p.m. game on Sunday.

Austin Stacey took three shots for Huntingdon and Michael Craven and Zach Dedman each took one shot. Stacey and Craven each had one shot on goal.

Keeper Alex Brown finished with four saves and three goals allowed.
