Huntingdon loses to top-seeded Greensboro in USA South Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team lost to No. 1 seed Greensboro College 5-1 on Saturday in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament.

This was the first appearance in the USA South Tournament for the Hawks (3-12-3).

Greensboro (13-4-1) scored its first goal just before the 11-minute mark. The Pride scored two more goals in the next seven minutes to take a 3-0 lead less than 18 minutes into the game.

Huntingdon's Zach Dedman scored on an assist from Brendon Van Emelen to cut Greensboro's lead to two goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half. But the Pride scored two more times in the second half to put the game away.

Dedman finished with one shot, one shot on goal and one goal. Freshman Tyler DeJianne had two shots and one shot on goal. Miguel Medina recorded one shot and one shot on goal while Van Emelen took one shot and recorded one assist.

Senior goalkeeper Dominique Thomas recorded eight saves and allowed five goals.
