Huntingdon opens season with 2OT tie against MUW

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team opened the season with a 1-1 tie in double overtime on Friday night against the Mississippi University for Women.

Freshman Hunter Hall scored on an assist from junior Mac Puller to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first half. MUW answered in the 66th minute to tie the game.

The Hawks had opportunities in the second half and overtime but could not break the tie.

 

Records: Huntingdon (0-0-1); Mississippi University for Women (0-0-1)

Notable: Huntingdon outshot MUW 25-13. The Hawks finished with 10 shots on goal to the Owls' eight. 

Did you know?: Friday's game marked the first men's competition in any sport for the Mississippi University for Women. MUW currently competes in two men's sports, soccer and baseball.
