Men’s soccer handles Maryville

DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, ONLY HUNTINGDON STUDENTS ARE PERMITTED AT OUTDOOR ATHLETIC EVENTS

 

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team continued its strong start to the season with a 4-1 win over Maryville on Sunday.

The win was the Hawks' first against Maryville since 2012 and the second since 1999. It was Huntingdon's first home victory against Maryville during the NCAA era.

The victory was Huntingdon's third straight to open the season, marking the first 3-0 start for the program since 1999.

Hunter Hall turned in his third straight multi-goal game and second straight game with three goals. Hall scored one goal in the first half and two goals in the second half to seal Sunday's victory.

After Maryville scored the first goal of the game in the first eight minutes, Hall tied the game in the 19th minute. Tied 1-1 in the second half, Austin Priemer scored on an assist from Kelan LeBlanc to give the Hawks the lead in the 52nd minute.

Hall made it 3-1 on a penalty kick and closed the scoring on an assist from Sammy Sanchez.
