Hawks Taken Down by BSC in Opener

Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Men's Soccer was defeated by Birmingham-Southern, 5-2.

BSC started the scoring just 41 seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead but Sebastian Guerrero tied the game at 28:21. Back-to-back goals for Birmingham-Southern at 32:13 and 36:47 made it 3-1. The Hawks added a goal before halftime at 42:27 with an unassisted goal by Cristo Rocha to make it 3-2. BSC added two more goals in the second half at 50:01 and 58:03 that the Hawks were not able to answer.

Goalkeeper Zach Moenter made 9 saves on 14 shots. Austin Priemer and Varian Carty each had 3 shots. Sebastian Guerrero and Cristo Rocha each had 1 shot and 1 goal. The Hawks were outshot 25-11.

The Hawks travel to Warren Wilson on Saturday, September 3rd. Game time is set for 1:00 PM CST.
