Hawks Head to the GSAC Tournament as No. 1 Seed
LAGRANGE, Ga. --- Huntingdon College's men's and women's tennis team's enter the Great South Athletic Conference tournament today, Apr. 30, with number one and two seeds, respectively. Huntingdon's men's will open up the day against fourth-seeded Maryville College beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern, while the Lady Hawks will play numer three seed Spelman College at 5 p.m. Eastern on LaGrange College's tennis courts.
On the men's side, head coach Charlie Lane received the GSAC Coach of the Year honor following a perfect conference record, 6-0. Newcomer Tyler Creamer was voted the conference's Freshman of the Year after going undefeated at the No. 2 singles position for the GSAC regular-season champion Hawks. Creamer, Zach Molin, Sean Jackson and B.J. Foroughian all earned All-Conference honors for the Hawks.
The Lady Hawks received five GSAC All-Conference honors including Katie Scott, Hannah Creamer, Kristin McDaniel, Jaclyn Crossman and Kati Bryant. Huntingdon's women's team will look to redeem their only conference loss to Agnes Scott if the two teams make it to the championship match on Sunday.
