Huntingdon men’s tennis picked No. 3 in preseason USA South poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team won three conference titles during its final five seasons in the Great South Athletic Conference.

Entering its first season in the USA South Athletic Conference, the Hawks are among the top three teams in the conference preseason poll released on Wednesday. Huntingdon, which finished 13-5 last season as an Independent, totaled 58 points for a third-place ranking in the poll.

Five-time defending conference champion North Carolina Wesleyan is ranked No. 1. The Battling Bishops received nine first-place votes and 81 points. Methodist received one first-place vote and 72 points.

Finishing fourth and fifth in the poll are Piedmont (fourth at 57 points) and LaGrange (fifth at 41 points).

Huntingdon opens the season on Feb. 11 at home against Point University. The Hawks will play their first conference match on March 8 at Ferrum.
