Men’s tennis places 2nd in John McWilliams Fall Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Huntingdon men's tennis team battled hard on the final day of the John McWilliams Fall Invitational and finished in second place.
The Hawks had solid results in singles play on Sunday. John Jones defeated Ben Reardon of Birmingham-Southern 7-5, 6-3 in the final round of the White singles draw.
Eric Busch lost to Charlie Rowe of Birmingham-Southern but was able to defeat David Goodloe 8-6 to win the third place match of the Grey singles draw. Justin McQueen defeated Zach Justice from LaGrange College 8-0 in the Grey consolation draw.
The doubles team of Bobby Foroughian-Zac Baldwin lost 8-6 to Hewitt-Blanchard of Point University. The teams of Meyer Schwartzberg-Trey Pirtle and Tyler Chaffee-Aaron Triplett were unable to play due to weather.
Birmingham-Southern finished first in the final tournament standings with 42 points. Huntingdon was second with 27 points, Millsaps College was third with 20 points, Point University was fourth with 19 points and LaGrange College was fifth with zero points.
Freshman Ben Marler won the tournament's sportsmanship award.
