Huntingdon men’s tennis wins 11th straight match

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team wrapped up its final home match of the season with a 9-0 win over Tuskegee University on Wednesday.

The win was the 11th straight for the Hawks (11-3). Huntingdon is 9-1 at home this season.

Aaron Triplett (No. 2), Justin McQueen (No. 3) and Eric Busch (No. 6) each won their singles matches in straight sets. Zac Baldwin (No. 1) and Bailey Burns (No. 3) won their singles matches when their opponents retired in the second set. Ben Marler won by injury forfeit at No. 5 singles.

The team of Meyer Schwartzberg-Sebastian Riveros Florez won 8-4 at No. 1, the team of Baldwin-Bobby Foroughian won 8-3 at No. 2 and the team of Trey Pirtle-John Jones won 8-1 at No. 3.

The Hawks close out the regular season with two conference matches in North Carolina this weekend. Huntingdon will play North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Methodist on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Huntingdon (7-0 USA South) and North Carolina Wesleyan (7-0 USA South) are tied for first in the conference standings. Methodist (4-2 USA South) is fourth.
