Huntingdon closes regular season with loss at Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team closed out the regular season with an 8-1 loss at Methodist University on Sunday.

Huntingdon (11-5) and Methodist (12-4) both finished the regular season with a 7-2 record in USA South competition. With the head-to-head win, Methodist is the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament and Huntingdon is the No. 3 seed.

Huntingdon will play Covenant in the first round of the USA South Tournament on Friday at 9 a.m. (Central) in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Playing at No. 1 singles, sophomore Sebastian Riveros Florez picked up the Hawks' only win on Sunday. Florez defeated R.J. Clement 7-6, 2-6, 11-9. Florez is 12-3 in singles this season with a 10- record at No. 2 and a 2-2 record at No. 1.
