Foroughian and Florez named 1st-team All-Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon junior Bobby Foroughian and sophomore Sebastian Riveros Florez both earned first-team All-Conference honors with the release of the USA South All-Conference men's tennis team on Thursday.

This is the second straight year Foroughian has been named a first-team selection. Florez was a second-team selection last season.

Foroughian is 9-2 at No. 1 singles this season and won eight straight matches at one point. He is 8-3 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. In dual matches, Foroughian is 35-10 in singles and 35-11 in doubles during his three-year career.

Florez, who won 10 straight matches during one stretch this season, is 12-3 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles this season. He is 10-1 at No. 2 singles. He is 12-3 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Florez has won 45 singles and doubles matches the past two springs.

Junior Aaron Triplett was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.

Huntingdon (11-5) closed the regular season with an 11-5 record and is the No. 3 seed entering the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Hawks will play Covenant on Friday at 9 a.m.

North Carolina Wesleyan swept Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. The Battling Bishops' Robert Kjellberg was named Player of the Year and Sebastian Sikh was named Rookie of the Year. Covenant's John Hirte was named Coach of the Year.
