Hawks fall to Methodist in USA South men’s tennis semifinals
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team battled second-seeded Methodist University but lost 8-1 on Saturday in the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals.
Huntingdon (12-6) has faced Methodist in the conference semifinals in each of its first two seasons in the USA South.
In a rematch of last season's conference final, Methodist (13-4) will play six-time defending conference champion North Carolina Wesleyan (14-5) on Sunday in the championship match.
In the semifinals, the third-seeded Hawks picked up a win at No. 1 doubles with the team of Bobby Foroughian-Zac Baldwin winning 8-2. Foroughian and Baldwin end the season with an 8-4 doubles record.
