Men’s tennis defeats Ferrum in conference opener

FERRUM, Va. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team defeated Ferrum 5-4 in Saturday's conference opener.

In doubles, the Hawks won two matches. The teams of John Jones-Trey Pirtle and Justin McQueen-Aaron Triplett earned wins for Huntingdon (3-1, 1-0 USA South).

The Hawks won three matches in singles, with McQueen (No. 4) winning the deciding match, 6-2 6-3, to give the Hawks the win.

Jones (No.1) won in straight sets, 6-1 6-4, while Triplett (No.2) won in three sets, 4-6 6-3 7-6.

Huntingdon will play at LaGrange on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
