Huntingdon wins two matches against Berea

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team defeated Berea College 9-0 and 8-1 in a pair of conference matches on Saturday.
The second match was to make up a postponed match from earlier in the season.
In the 9-0 win, Huntingdon's No. 1 doubles team of John Jones and Ben Marler and No. 2 doubles team of Adam Self and Anjala Chandrasoma each won 8-1. The No. 3 team of Bailey Burns and Mark Melchor won 8-0.
In singles, Jones (No. 1) won 6-1, 6-1, Burns (No. 2) won 6-4, 6-2, Self (No. 3) won 6-0, 6-0, Melchor (No. 4) won 6-2, 6-0, Marler (No. 5) won 6-0, 6-0 and Chandrasoma (No. 6) won 6-1, 6-2.
In the second match, the No. 1 doubles team of Jones and Marler and the No. 2 team of Burns and Melchor each won 8-0. The No. 3 team of Trevor Berry and Kevaughnte Merrion won 8-5.
In singles, Self (No. 1) won 6-0, 6-2, Melchor (No. 2) won 6-0, 6-0, Marler (No. 3) won 6-0, 6-0, Chandrasoma (No. 5) won 6-2, 6-2 and Merrion (No. 6) won 6-2, 6-2.
