Hawks capture third straight conference victory

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team defeated Maryville College 6-3 on Sunday.
This was the third straight conference win for the Hawks.
Huntingdon won all three doubles matches to take an early lead and finished the match with three wins in singles.
In doubles, the No. 1 team of John Jones and Ben Marler won 8-6. The No. 2 team of Bailey Burns and Mark Melchor won 8-1 and the No. 3 team of Adam Self and Anjala Chandrasoma won 8-3.
Self, Melchor and Marler also won in singles. Self (No.3) won 6-0, 6-0, Melchor (No. 4) won 6-2, 6-2 and Marler (No. 5) won 6-0, 6-0.
Records: Huntingdon (5-4, 3-4 USAS); Maryville (1-9, 0-5 USAS)
Coming Up: Huntingdon returns to action in Orlando, Fla., on Monday and Tuesday. The Hawks play Luther College at 8 a.m. and Loras College at 1 p.m. on Monday and Mount St. Mary College at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
