Huntingdon softball falls at fifth-ranked Emory

ATLANTA, Ga. – Huntingdon gave up six runs in the third and fourth innings and fell to fifth-ranked Emory 6-2 on Saturday.

Emory (12-1) went up 1-0 in the third and scored five runs on six hits in the fourth, including a three-run homer.

Huntingdon (4-2) scored both of its runs in the top of the seventh. Bree Giordana doubled to left field, scoring Holly Ostrander. Giordana later scored on an Emory error.

Giordana was the only Huntingdon player with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run.

Melissa McClure (0-1) took the loss for Huntingdon in 3 2/3 innings. Giordana pitched the final 2 1/3 innings.

Bridget Holloway (7-1) picked up the win for Emory.

Huntingdon returns to action on Sunday with two games at Emory. The Lady Hawks play Transylvania at 9 a.m. and Emory at 1 p.m.
