Payne And Krafft Earn Weekly GSAC Softball Honors

DECATUR, Ga.- Closing in on the conference tournament in two weeks, the Great South Athletic Conference announces this week's softball weekly awards. Chelsea Krafft of Covenant and Aleah Payne of Huntingdon earn this week's Pitcher and Player of the week awards, respectively. This is the first time for the honor this season for Krafft and the second straight for Payne.

Krafft showed her worth for the Scots against Tennessee Temple this past week. In the only contest of the week, she pitched six innings with one hit, no walks or runs and struck out 12. Currently, she is first in the conference in strikeouts with 121 over 117.2 innings of work.

Providing Huntingdon with an offensive spark, Payne earns her third Player of the Week award this season. In a two game conference sweep of Agnes Scott, she batted .625 (5-for-8) with two home runs, six RBIs, five runs, three stolen bases and a 1.500 slugging percentage in a sweep of Agnes Scott. She currently sits atop the leaderboard in several offensive categories including runs scored (32), doubles (9) and stolen bases 21.
