Huntingdon's McClure and Scott earn weekly GSAC honors

ATLANTA – Huntingdon seniors Melissa McClure and Katie Scott were among three players recognized by the Great South Athletic Conference with the release of the GSAC Players of the Week on Wednesday.

McClure was named GSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week and Scott was named GSAC Tennis Player of the Week. Pine Manor's Kaylyn Delgado was named Softball Player of the Week.

McClure earned four wins last week (Covenant, Wesleyan twice and Agnes Scott), including a perfect game and a no-hitter. She finished with 30 strikeouts, three walks, three runs allowed and 15 hits allowed in 24 innings. McClure also batted .400 with four RBIs, two triples and three runs in three games.

Scott was 3-0 at No. 1 singles last week and teamed with Micaela White for two wins at No. 2 doubles and one win at No. 1 doubles. In singles, Scott won 6-1, 6-0 against Tuskegee, 6-2, 6-0 against Covenant and 6-2, 6-2 against Spring Hill. In No. 2 doubles, Scott and White won 8-1 against Tuskegee and 8-5 against Covenant. Scott and White won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles against Spring Hill.
