Huntingdon softball swept by No. 2 Spring Hill

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team closed out February with a pair of losses to Spring Hill on Thursday. The Badgers, the No. 2 ranked team in NAIA, won the first game 3-0 and took the second game 5-2.

Morgan Goshorn led Huntingdon at the plate with two hits, two RBIs and a run. Goshorn drove in Jamie Langford with a two-run homer in the sixth inning of Game 2.

Huntingdon had seven hits in Game 2, but stranded six runners. In Game 1, Daisha Henderson had the Lady Hawks' only hit.

Katy Messick (1-1) took the loss in 5 2/3 innings in Game 1 and Anna Stephens (1-2) took the loss in Game 2 in 3 1/3 innings. Kaitlynn Wiggins allowed one hit and no runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief in Game 1 and allowed one hit and one earned run in 3 2/3 innings of relief in Game 2.

Huntingdon (4-5) opens USA South Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a home doubleheader against William Peace. Game 1 is set for 1 p.m.
