ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon softball team's run in the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament came to an end on Saturday.
The Lady Hawks fell to second-seeded William Peace 5-0. Huntingdon (19-17) split on the opening day of the tournament, losing to LaGrange before eliminating North Carolina Wesleyan.
In Saturday's loss, Peace (20-14-1) scored two runs in the second inning, two runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth.
Senior Ashley Johnson accounted for two of the Lady Hawks' six hits and finished 2-for-3. Daisha Henderson, Heather McGuirk, Katy Messick and Blake Rowland each had one hit. Messick (11-8) took the loss.
