Henderson and Harden recognized on All-Conference softball team

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon junior Daisha Henderson and freshman Katrina Harden were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference on Wednesday with the release of the All-Conference softball teams.
Henderson was named honorable mention as an outfielder and Harden was named honorable mention at third base.
Henderson leads the Lady Hawks with 42 hits and 24 runs this season and is second on the team with a .368 batting average and 14 stolen bases. She also has nine RBIs.
Harden leads Huntingdon with a .372 batting average, is second with a .462 slugging percentage and a .425 on-base percentage and third with nine stolen bases. She is fifth on the team in hits, runs and RBIs. Defensively, she has committed just three errors in 34 games this season.
In its third season in the USA South, Huntingdon enters the conference tournament with a 17-19 record. The Lady Hawks open the tournament against Maryville on Friday at 10 a.m. (Central) in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Senior Jessica Swindle was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.
Averett junior shortstop Jessica Long was named Player of the Year and Averett senior Mary Beth Smith was named Pitcher of the Year. Piedmont first baseman Hannah Hoban was named Rookie of the Year and Piedmont's Melissa Eckman was named Rookie Pitcher of the Year. Maryville's Leah Kelley was named Coach of the Year.
