Softball falls to 6th ranked Berry College

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team dropped two games on Saturday to sixth-ranked Berry College.

The Lady Hawks (0-2) lost 14-3 in six innings in the first game and fell 9-0 in five innings in Game 2.

Kelsie Dardon had two of Huntingdon's six hits in the doubleheader and finished with two RBIs.

Huntingdon took an early 2-1 lead over Berry (2-0) in the first game, but the Vikings scored three runs in the second inning and added eight runs in the sixth to the take the win.

Brandi Blair scored two runs in Game 1 while Amber Wade scored one run. Samara Miller added one RBI and Dardon recorded two RBIs. Raina Lanier (0-1) took the loss in 5 2/3 innings pitched.

The Vikings took control early in Game 2, scoring three runs in the first and second innings. Berry added to its lead in the fourth with three more runs. Huntingdon finished with two hits in the shutout.

Alex Teague (0-1) took the loss in 1 1/3 innings pitched.

Huntingdon hosts Mt. St. Joseph on Friday as first-pitch is set for noon.
