Lady Hawks score 23 runs in sweep of Agnes Scott

DECATUR, Ga. – The Huntingdon softball team picked up its first two conference wins of the season with an 11-2 and 12-0 sweep of Agnes Scott on Friday. Game 1 was shortened to five innings.

The Lady Hawks had a season-high 13 hits in Game 1. In Game 2, Huntingdon had 12 hits, a season-high 12 runs, a season-high 11 RBIs and a season-high six stolen bases.

Freshman Madison Perryman and junior Kaci Cochran combined for 11 of Huntingdon's 19 RBIs in the doubleheader. Perryman hit a grand slam in Game 2 and finished the day with six RBIs, three runs and three hits. Cochran had five RBIs in Game 1.

Juniors Rayne Ellis and Alyssa Singleterry combined for eight hits, 10 runs and six stolen bases in the two games. Ellis was 5-for-8 with five runs, two RBIs and two stolen bases and Singleterry had five runs, three hits, an RBI and four stolen bases.

Huntingdon took control of Game 1 with three runs in the first inning and four runs in the third inning. Cochran highlighted the third inning with a three-run double and accounted for five of Huntingdon's eight RBIs in the game.

Katie Dewey was 3-for-4 with two runs in Game 1, Ellis and Perryman were each 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI and Singleterry had two hits and two runs. Caitlyn Caffee had an RBI and a run and Maggie Porter and Amber Wade each scored one run.

Madison Hunt (4-2) earned the win in three innings. In Game 2, Lindsey Selph (3-6) pitched a complete game for the win. Selph matched her career-high with 11 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings. She also walked one and scattered five hits.

Huntingdon carried a 3-0 lead into the seventh inning of Game 2 before exploding for nine runs. Perryman's grand slam opened the seventh-inning scoring as Huntingdon put together seven hits in the inning.

Perryman finished Game 2 with five RBIs and a run and Ellis was 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. Singleterry scored three runs and had one RBI and Samara Miller drove in two runs and scored once.

Carly Cincotta had two hits and two runs, McKenzie Ridgway had two hits and a run, Katie Lee had one RBI and one run and Dewey had one RBI.
