Lady Hawks come up short in doubleheader with Millsaps

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team lost two games to Millsaps on Tuesday, falling 5-3 and 3-2.

In Game 1, the Lady Hawks tied the game 3-3 in the sixth inning. But the Majors scored two runs in the top of the seventh to regain the lead.

In Game 2, Millsaps built a 3-0 lead in the first three innings before Huntingdon scored two runs in the fourth inning.

Rayne Ellis had three of Huntingdon's five hits in Game 1, finishing 3-for-4 with a run. Katie Dewey had an RBI and a run and Alyssa Singleterry scored one run. McKenzie Ridgway finished with one RBI, tying the game 3-3 in the sixth inning on an RBI single.

Lindsey Selph (5-7) took the loss in 6 2/3 innings. Selph struck out eight, walked five, gave up six hits and allowed four earned runs.

In Game 2, Maggie Porter had two of Huntingdon's four hits and drove in one run. Kaci Cochran had an RBI double and scored one run and Madison Perryman scored one run.

Madison Hunt (4-3) took the loss in three innings.
