Huntingdon track and field competes in Vulcan Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's track and field team got another taste of Division I and Division II competition in this weekend's Vulcan Invitational.

Hosted by UAB, Samford and Birmingham-Southern at the new Birmingham Crossplex, the meet featured Division I, Division II and Division III programs. Huntingdon was one of six Division III programs competing on Friday and Saturday. This was the third meet of the Indoor Season for Huntingdon's first-year program.

There was no team scoring for the two-day meet.

Huntingdon's Abby Carter and Kim Allen both placed in the Top-25 in the shot put and were first and second among Division III competitors. Allen was 23rd in the weight throw and Sara Beasley was 29th. Allen was first and Beasley was third among Division III competitors.

Sheaney Marshall was 43rd in the 400 meters and sixth among Division III competitors. Rachael Phillips was 39th in the 3,000 meters and seventh among Division III entries.

In the 200-meter dash, Kyndall Caldwell finished 48th, Miah Burton was 50th and Kierra McClain was 56th. Among Division III runners, Caldwell was seventh, Burton was eighth and McClain was 14th.

Brianna McClure finished 44th in the long jump, which was seventh best among Division III schools.
