Marshall leads Huntingdon in Mountain Laurel Invitational

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sheaney Marshall placed in two individual events and a relay to help the Huntingdon women's track and field team to a fifth-place finish at the Mountain Laurel Invitational this weekend.

Marshall won the 400 meters with a time of 59.68 seconds, her season best, and was fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.78 seconds. She teamed with Patricia Pickens, Miah Burton and Tristiana Mays to finish third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 51.56 seconds.

As a team, the first-year Huntingdon program scored 47 points to finish fifth. Bethel won the meet with 194 points and Birmingham-Southern was second with 136.

In addition to Marshall and the relay team, the Lady Hawks had three other top-five performances in the meet. Kim Allen was second in the discus with a distance of 110-feet, 1-inch. Dana Phillips was fourth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:32.40 and Kierra McClain was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 30-feet, 7-inches.

The Lady Hawks travel to Troy next weekend for the Coach "O" Invitational.
