Lady Hawks falter in second half against Emory

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team played Emory tough for the first half on Wednesday.

But Emory was too much for the Lady Hawks in the final 20 minutes. The Eagles turned a seven-point halftime lead into an 80-48 victory.

"They took away our first option on offense and we panicked," Huntingdon head coach Buzz Phillips said. "You can't do that in a game like this. Once the panic set in, it was very hard for us to regain our composure. It's something we'll learn from, but we've got to come out and play with better composure against Millsaps."

The Lady Hawks (3-3) play Millsaps (7-2) on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Huntingdon's Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. As part of the tournament, Roland Arena will host seven games on Thursday, seven games on Friday and one game on Saturday. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. LaTerial Williams led Huntingdon with 11 points and four steals. Patricia Pickens and Sekal Ousley each added seven points. Ousley finished with seven rebounds and Tanjanik Munford pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
